About Us

Although Air Capitol Salvage has been actively involved in auto-recycling since the WWII war-effort days of recovering metals for our military, the Boote family purchased the business in 1979 with the idea of bringing the auto salvage business out of the "junkyard" era and into a realm of running a respectable business offering affordable automotive solutions to a much broader audience.  It was clear to us that  the "grease-monkeys" of days gone by were a dying breed and there was a distinct need for reasonably priced replacement parts for both wholesale and retail consumers.  Air Capitol was the first auto salvage in Wichita to employ female sales-counter staff, an unheard of move that offered many repair shops and individuals comfort in sending their female staff/family members understanding that harassment was not part of our culture. 

45 years later you'll still find me serving the Wichita area with affordable parts & friendly service.  If we don't have it, we'll help you find it!
